Vasyl Popadiuk was born to play his violin. His Father, a renowned composer and performer, a Hutsul from the Carpathian mountains, taught him how to sing the song of mountain streams and mysterious forests of his native Ukraine. His Mother, a ballerina and a choreographer, endowed him with the ability to use his body as an extension of a musical instrument. At the age of four a boy with a perfect pitch learnt to play the piano. At six he made his first appearance on professional stage with a fiddle, his brother Yarko following in his steps. When pushing his twenties a conservatory educated virtuoso won many a standing ovation of breathless music lovers in Germany, Tunis, Jordan, Canada, USA, Spain, France, Italy, Austria, Holland and many other countries he toured with the Moscow National Theatre of Folk Music, Ukrainian "Hopak" Dance Company and Ukrainian "Romance" Gypsy Theatre.
Today he is bringing the passion and nerve of his favorite melodies of the world to North America.
