The album was recorded during November 1973 and as with "Machine Head" we (Deep Purple) we went to Montreux Switzerland and used the Rolling Stones mobile unit. The engineer was Martin Birch assisted by Tipani, George and Paul, and the album was devised and produced by Deep Purple. Как-же все-же сильны ПЕРВЫЕ впечатления!
В 1975 году я ВПЕРВЫЕ услышал DP и именно этот диск. Пластинка была немецкая, знакомый купил ее за пол своей зарплаты, но удовольствие, полученное от многочисленных прослушиваний - разве МОЖНО измерить какими-то деньгами?
Шок от игры ВЕЛИКИХ при прослушивании на неплохой (по тем временам аппаратуре) - помнится и по сей день... а времени, увы, прошло НЕмало.
Этот диск Неплох по звуку (мое имхо), но не идеален, как впрочем и винил, в свое время... Странно, после ЧУДЕСНОГО звука на 72 и 73-ем, этот диск как-то звучал Неубедительно, хотя материал на нем, абсолютно ШЕДЕВРИАЛЬНЫЙ. Не решили проблем со звуком ни японские, ни ремастированные издания
Может Хоффман когда-нибудь займется и этим альбомом... Ну а пока слушаем то, что имеем...
