author: Symon Michael I really like this disk for bunch of reasons - as a horn player, it was refreshing to hear trumpets and saxes washing long, slow, rich harmony lines over funky, fast-paced drum grooves, rather then the typical world-of-chops million note horn solos I'm so used to hearing. As an arranger, I thought the use of rhythmic spoken word against dance grooves (specifically cut #6) was essential and well-deserved. You can hear EVERY INSTRUMENT in the mix very clearly, and nothing feels like it was added as filler - all voices on all tracks are absolutely essential to the compositions. And of course, Eda Maxym's voice is really the strongest instrument here - powerful without sounding forced, smooth and well-balanced against guitars and the multitude of other things going on. Besides being well produced, this disk is really just plain FUN! Eda Maxym - vocals Stephen Kent - guitars, didjeridu, sello, percussion Jane Selkye - vocals, guitars, charanga, accordion Chris Kee - bass, keyboard Peter Valsamis - drums Manose - Himalayan flutes Ralph Carney - horns, flute Chris Martin - keyboard Drew Dellinger - spoken word John Loose - frame drums, kanjira, percussion David Phillips - pedal steel guitar Geoffrey Gordon - tabla Gari Hegedus - strings Shea Comfort - duduk Jeffrey Alphonsus Mooney - banjo

Просто гляньте на список музыкантов и музыкальных инструментов и станет ясно, что плохого альбома можно не бояться. ![]() |
