Bobo Stenson Trio - Reflections (1996)

QUOTE:
Bobo Stenson is best known for his longtime association with Charles Lloyd. On his trio set (which has fine support from bassist Anders Jormin and drummer Jon Christensen), he often sounds a bit like Keith Jarrett, Lloyd's pianist of the 1960s. Stenson shows more energy than one might expect to hear on an ECM date, although he also has several introspective explorations. Highlights include a somber "My Man's Gone Now," an impressionistic version of Duke Ellington's "Reflections In D," the Latin feel of "Minidatyr" and a spirited "The Enlightener."
