| QUOTE: | After "Wildhoney" had been highly acclaimed as classic album, TIAMAT went downriver quite a bit with their very calm and experimental "A Deeper Kind Of Slumber". This alone was enough to let me anxiously await, which direction mastermind Johan Edlund has taken for "Skeleton Skeletron". Roughly you could describe the sixth album of the Swedes as a mixture of "Wildhoney" and "A Deeper Kind Of Slumber", because it combines the relaxed atmosphere of "ADKOS" with the guitars and intensity of "Wildhoney", even though you have to say that TIAMAT 1999 is more Rock than Metal. Dark hymns like "To Have And Have Not" or "Best Friend Money Can Buy" are standing equally besides Gothic Metal-tracks like the first single "Brighter Than The Sun" or "Dust Is Our Face". Worthy of note is also the highly interesting cover-version of the ROLLING STONES-classic "Sympathy For The Devil", which sounds more like TIAMAT than anything else... TIAMAT most definitely have found their very own style, but if they will be able to reclaim the success they had enjoyed with "Wildhoney" is doubtful.
