thanx goes to Dr.Spengler for this nice release! Review: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was where Elton John's personality began to gather more attention than his music, as it topped the American charts for eight straight weeks. In many ways, the double album was a recap of all the styles and sounds that made John a star. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is all over the map, beginning with the prog-rock epic "Funeral for a Friend (Love Lies Bleeding)" and immediately careening into the balladry of "Candle in the Wind." For the rest of the album, John leaps between pop-craft ("Bennie and the Jets"), ballads ("Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"), hard rock ("Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting"), novelties ("Jamaica Jerk-Off"), Taupin's literary pretensions ("The Ballad of Danny Bailey"), and everything in between. Though its diversity is impressive, the album doesn't hold together very well. Even so, its individual moments are spectacular and the glitzy, crowd-pleasing showmanship that fuels the album pretty much defines what made Elton John a superstar in the early '70s. -Stephen Thomas Erlewine (All Music Guide) Track List: 1. Harmony - 2:45 buyer review I've been a fan of MFSL ultradisc CDs since 1988. Yellow Brick Road was one of the first ones I bought. I must admit, I'd only heard EJ's hits until I got Yellow Brick Road. I was blown away. The clarity of the CD and the quality of the music was incredible. Funeral for a Friend never sounded so good! This is one of those CDs where every song is great. I could go on and on about each song, but you'd have to hear it yourself to understand. Now that MFSL is out of business, this CD is especially hard to find. Actually, it was out of print a long time before they went out of business. If your lucky, you can find a used one on Ebay. |

И на мой, скромный взгляд, Captain Fantastic & The Dirt Brown Cawboy - это наиболее целостное и яркое произведения друзей(подруг! ) Elton John & Bernie Taupin!

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (Lennon-McCartney) сам Леннон на ней играет! One Day at a Time (John Lennon) и Philadelphia Freedom!!!!!! Комментарии, как говорится, излишни! |

The MoFi GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD is one of the best Cd's I own. Very hard to fault anything about it; the pinnacle of MOFI. __________________ SH http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=136237&page=2 (http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=136237&page=2 Во, как! |
