The name Metalium is not unknown to a lot of metal fans and since the debut album 'Millennium Metal' from 1999, the band has grown to become a hard value for the German heavy metal scene. Looking at the productivity, intensity, many live shows and high quality releases, they have earned that reputation.
Metalium is one of those bands that keep growing with each album, without making any musical compromises. The sixth chapter of the Metalian concept offers little surprise and I'm more than happy about it to be honest. The band has kept hold of the same heavy metal formula as they have done since the beginning and is a band that truly deserves the word "metal" in their name. Listen to 'Spirits' that blasts out of the speakers after the intro and immediately takes hold of you. Metalium has the gift of remaining recognizable and still come with enough variation in the songs. 'Nothing To Undo' is no exception to that rule. Songs like 'Straight Into Hell', the fast 'Heroes' and in the above mentioned 'Spirits' are all Metalium-bangers. But the slow 'Way Home' and the mid-tempo 'Mental Blindness' see to a pleasant variety, so that the album isn't boring for a moment.
In general the album has fallen out more aggressive in comparison to 'Demons Of Insanity' and the songs are more powerful. I'm not saying that 'Demons...' was a bad or weak album, but 'Nothing To Undo' is stronger in every aspect. The fact that these gentlemen from Hamburg are excellent musicians and songwriters is more audible than ever before and especially Henning Basse steals the show a bit by his magnificent vocal performance. The production is simply stunning and a playing time of 45 minutes is exactly long enough to keep your attention to the very last second. For the sake of tradition the band has recorded another cover for this album. This time they have chosen for the Queen-classic 'Show Must Go On', which is played convincingly.
Bottom line is that Metalium has delivered a strong album, which has everything a good heavy metal album requires. Together with bands like Helloween, Gamma Ray and Blind Guardian, Metalium stands at the top of the German heavy metal.

К стати, кто-нибудь заметил, что Германия в последнее время производит классный тяжелый рок (Rammstein, Blind Guardian, Metalium, Helloween etc), а Америка выдыхается (последняя надежда на Metallica, которая сейчас в студии)...
