Review by Brian Mansfield
Joe Ely's first album came out while country's outlaw movement was in full swing, but Joe Ely took it one better. This is a roots-rocking country album with tunes by Jimmie Dale Gilmore ("Treat Me Like a Saturday Night") and Butch Hancock ("She Never Spoke Spanish to Me," "If You Were a Bluebird") that deserve the near-classic status their cult of fans have bestowed on them.
