The Japanese seems to have a little more "body" and a little more presence, the EMI sounds a tad warmer and maybe a little more musical. I'll probably keep both, and if you like this album, either version will do. The EMI does not appear to be a needle drop like it has been mentioned for at least one of the early Deep Purple CD's.
