Review:Join Sina on a musical flight through various cultures, and observe these from the viewpoint of a shaman. Natural instruments like the rainstick and chalaparta create an atmosphere full of naturalness and ethnic solidarity. The longing for a peaceful world is expressed in the play on words Buddha in Jeru-Salem - a piece in which Sina Vodjani creates a musical bridge of peace with authentic sounds from Tibet and Jerusalem.
The idea for The Shaman's Flight was born when the composer was staying at the Nei-Jing School of alternative treatment methods in Spain. Artistic forms of expression - such as music, dance and poetry - play an important role in the concept of the institute, which is run by the doctor and shamanistic healer Dr. Jose Luis Padilla Corral. This prompted Sina Vodjani to record with highly-talented local musicians and Dr. Padilla Corral himself, who sings and plays a variety of instruments. With their attitude to science and art, these artists inspired Sina to write compositions that are an invitation to join him on a journey on the wings of Spanish, Oriental, Northern and Latin American sounds.
