Bluetech returns with his first new material since 2005. After splitting his musical expression into multiple aliases, 'Phoenix Rising' marks his return to eclectic, ecstatic, and emotional electronic music, and exists as a precursor to an expansive album entitled 'The Divine Invasion'.
Music incubated in dreams, flows of energy from ancestral sources, the shape of the wind.

The new EP from Californian producer Bluetech is aptly named "Phoenix Rising", as this truly is the second coming of Bluetech, although it is slightly different than old Bluetech. The songs are more rhythm based, with bouncy beats and warm delays. While old releases such were much more based on intricate layers of stuttering and clean synths, this release goes solidly around the dubby beats.
Each track is unique in its own right, but some particularly standout tracks include My Dear Friend Kronos, which has a nice progressive bassline that evokes Bonobo in its lounge feel. Kingdom of the Blind also has an interesting brass riff that sounds more classical than dub but fits very well in the mix. Finally, the track Riding The Sky Elevator adds an upbeat dub track that dubs along nicely.
This is an amazing progression for Bluetech that may have fans cold at first, but after a few listens they will see the signature Bluetech elements shining through. ~ by wibble274
