Things we are and things we like. That’s the guiding principle behind „Music For Modern People Vol. 1“, Apart from being a sound statement, the album is a preview to the artists upcoming releases. Well-established bands and artists such as Naomi, Kurtis Blow, Alphawezen and Terry Lee Brown Jr. are presented with exclusive tracks taking turns with amazing discoveries such as KiloWatts & Vanek, Clover and Supermercato. The album is rounded off by highlights such as Jean F. Cochois (aka The Timewriter), Neulander (Disco B), The Strike Boys (Stereo Deluxe) or Swedish Electro band "The Knife". Songs, not sounds is our motto. "Music for Modern People Vol. 1" whets the appetite for all further releases. The world is big and colourful . Elektronic music meets acoustic instrumentation, oldschool Rap legends encounter up-to-date remixers. the songs don’t babble along but move heart and soul: highly distinguishable and clearly recognisable electronic music. Naomi whose second album „Pappelallee“ was widely acclaimed and frequently compared to Air and Pets Shop Boys by the press (like Süddeutsche Zeitung, Rolling Stone/Germany, KulturSpiegel) reward us with their previously unreleased jewel „No Entry“. Electronic pop duo Alphawezen present their thoughtful feelgood song "Speed Of Light“ giving us a foretaste to their second album to be released in September. Markus Sprengler, until two years ago lead vocalist of Germanys most successful Ska band The Busters (with more than 900 live gigs a legendary perfomer), opens a pop shop shop on the sunny side of life with his new band and eponimously titled album „Supermercato.“ Here he contributes the beautiful song "Since You are Mine" with jazz trumpeter Joo Kraus. Nationally as well as internationally well-known House DJ and producer Terry Lee Brown JR. gives insight into his grooves in progress with his exclusive "Back At Square One" while Jean F. Cochois, most famous under his pseudonym The Timewriter, tells of „Electronic Love“. KiloWatts & Vanek unites a Dutch-Belgian guitar player with an eccentric electronic wizard from Texas, who got to know one another via internet chats. All in all a grand cornucopia in which the quirky electronic remix of rap legend Kurtis Blows „The Breaks“ and the amazing marimba drums in „Pass This on“ by The Knife are further highlights. A beautiful album and promising prospects for all lovers of good electronic music. Don’t despair when your days look gray
