Zhanna Plieva is one of the brilliant musicians of the modern generation. Plieva graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatoire under professor D. Svetozarov (piano), and Professor O. Evlakhov, Professor A. Mnatskanyan, Professor S. Slonimsky (composition). She is a Laureate of International Competitions (Moscow, Tokyo).
Plieva is the author of more than 100 works including 4 symphonies, ballets "Fatima" and "Alany", opera fairy-tale "The Sun’s Children", piano trio, quartet, quintet "The Song of Solomon" for brass winds, vocal cycles "From Epos" and "Ceasar’s Monologue", 4 piano sonatas, 2 sonatas for cello solo, "Ritual" for piano etc.

The story might be either "The Creation", or "The Fall", or "The Lost Paradise", the idea means to Zhanna Plieva’s version we become the witnesses to joing together both the energy of the composer-creator, and the "The Creator of the Heaven and the Earth", separating Light from Darkness, Firmness from Water, the Creater in whose careful hands emerge the lively rhythm of the universe, the time running and pulsation of a delicate human heart.

The conception of the ballet is based on the history of the first man creation, the Fall and banishment from the heaven. However the plot is originally interpreted by Zhanna Plieva in accordance with own specific vision of the problems of human existence and moral values, love, happiness, authentic and imaginary joys, correlation between reality and ideal.
Author’s idea is realized in contrasting of the two parts of the enactment in which one and the same story is realized in quite contrast and in many respects contrary situations: at first, in the lovely Garden Eden, and then in modern times.


Жанна Плиева – один из самых ярких музыкантов нового поколения. Профессиональное образование получила в Ленинградской консерватории по двум специальностям: композиция (проф. О. Евлахов, проф. А. Мнацаканян, проф. С. Слонимский в аспирантуре) и фортепиано (проф. Д. Светозаров), лауреат международных конкурсов.
Основные произведения: 4 симфонии, балеты "Фатима", "Аланы", опера-сказка "Дети Солнца", фортепианное трио, квартет, квинтет "Песнь Песней", 4 сонаты для фортепиано, 2 сонаты для виолончели Соло, "Ритуал" для фортепиано и др.

Этот сюжет мог быть назван и "Сотворение мира", и "Грехопадение", и "Потерянный Рай", неоднократно высказанный и всегда новый по возможности восприятия. В версии Жанны Плиевой мы становимся свидетелями соединения энергии творца-композитора, сочинителя и "Творца Неба и земли", оделяющего свет от тьмы. Твердь от Вод. Создателя, в бережной ладони которого возникает ритм жизни пространств, бег времени и пульсация хрупкого человеческого сердца

В основе замысла балета – история сотворения первого человека, грехопадения и изгнания из Рая. Однако, в "Страстях по Эдему", переосмыслена с характерной для Плиевой оригинальностью, в русле её своеобразных представлений о проблемах человеческого существования и нравственных ценностях, о любви, счастье, подлинных и мнимых радостях, соотношении реальности и идеала.
