Compiled at the end of the 14th Century for the Ivrea Cathedral, this Codex is one of the most important sources of French music from the French Ars Nova. Of the 87 pieces that are contained in the codex, 20 have been recorded here in Latin - extracts from masses, sacred and profane motets. The diversity and infinite polyphonic sublety of these miniatures by Guillaume de Mauchat and his contemporaries figure at the summit of the art of the early Middle Ages.
