thanks to my friends The name of Joseph Rheinberger (1839-1901) is well known to all classical organists, but outside of that his fame drops off sharply. Music trivia addicts love to point him out as "the greatest composer of Liechtenstein" – which he was. More importantly, he was one of the most revered music pedagogues of his time (Furtwängler and Humperdinck were among his pupils). His own music was highly acknowledged by his contemporaries, and this disc represents a real rediscovery of some rarely performed works. Elena Denisova counts among the most prominent personalities of the Russian violin elite today. The press and public confirm her high musical maturity, absolutely individual interpretation, and a superior virtuosity. Szygmunt W. Strzep, who was born in 1962, is representative of the young Polish generation of organists.
