QUOTE
Exploring new sounds and means of communicating has brought two discrepant worlds together. The result is a record that was created specially for you - the participants of the CeBIT 2000 fair. The merged jazz and highlander rhythms masterfully arranged by the Zbigniew Namyslowski Jazz Quartet and the Highlanders Band assure a rich musical experience and spur deep emotions. It is no coincidence that TP S.A., the company that aims to level to all communication barriers, has decided to release a record which describes our times and proves that tradition and modernity can go hand in hand. And the music... moves hearts and minds. It shows that it is the most perfect way of expressing thoughts, feelings and emotions. Enjoy.

Zbigniew Namyslowski - Prize-winner at various jazz festivals. Recorded 30 original albums... Gave numerous concerts at festivals and tours around Europe, the US, Canada, India, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Cuba, and Mexico. Took part in countless numbers of session recordings, including "Songs of the Pterodactyl" with the famous Tony Williams (Miles Davis Quartet) on drums. Zbigniew Namyslowski creates music that is a unique blend of jazz, folk, rock, classical music, his own musical ingenuity, and an original sound. Records such as "Vintage" and "Kuyaviak Goes Funky" have become classic jazz hits in Poland. Jan Forum Magazine awarded Namyslowski the second prize in the contest for "The Greatest Polish Musician of All Times".

Zakopane Highlanders - Highlanders' Band of Jan Karpiel "Bulecka". Under the command of famous violinist and songster from Podhale, Jan Karpiel "Bułecka" the Highlanders Band is currently one of the most unique artistic ventures in Europe. Though their main source of inspiration is the folk culture of the Tatra Mountains and the Podhale region, they perform masterful renditions of music made in different regions of Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Romania. It is this that has made them popular with folk fans and appreciated by students of the Karpaty folk culture. While enjoying the band's music, one will discover sounds that have been saved from becoming obscure and a virtuoso adaptations of gypsy, Jewish, Slovakian or Lemk music. By presenting the melodies of Europe's most beautiful mountains, the Highlanders Band wins the audience's hearts and raises enthusiasm during jazz and folk music festivals.

The most important trait that jazz musicians and highlanders share is a love for making music and playing it. The masterful execution of both shades of the entire piece are Zbigniew Namyslowski - an unsurpassed hero, a medium between jazz and Polish folklore, and Jan Karpiel "Bulecka", who is a virtuoso musician and a great expert in matters of Karpatian folk music. He is already considered to be one of the most important people in the history of the Karpaty mountains. (Marek Kaim)
