It took some time, but here’s finally the third album of Gothminister; "Happiness In Darkness"! We can definitely hear some more classical arrangements, but Gothminister is still bringing dark, heavy gothic industrial, so don’t be afraid to be bored with monk singing and devout murmur. Again this band is showing their capabilities; they succeeded to melt different subgenres between metal and gothic into each other. Something that will be liked by sweet young gothic girls, but also the tough barking metal men will appreciate this.

Just like on the former albums there are a lot of imposing and danceable tunes on this album; in the near future we will hear songs like ‘Dusk Till Dawn’, Beauty After Midnight’ and ‘Your Saviour’ in clubs. Nevertheless there are some outstanding innovations; for example in "Emperor’ we can hear some different styles of singing by singer Björn which are exchanged with some female vocals. Another surprising thing of this CD is that we can hear a more sensitive side of Gothminister; listen to ‘The Almighty’ and you understand what I try to explain, it’s really beautiful!

Maybe you can describe ‘Happiness In Darkness’ as an album that sounds familiar, but because of that a must have! Besides that Gothminister again delivered a great album I’m still wondering if this will be the end of this Norwegian band. There were a lot of rumours that this third album will be the end of the Gothminister story. Besides that the band cancelled their tour with Tiamat in 2009 and if you listen very carefully to the last song of the album ‘Mammoth’ you can hear it’s falling apart.....So let’s hope that all the omens and rumours are not right, because this band is too good to quit.......
