Mozart's Requiem and Clarinet Concerto were both written in 1791, the final year of the composer's tragically short life. The Requiem's emotional power and magnificent choral writing have inspired countless composers, performers and listeners ever since. The Clarinet Concerto was written for Anton Stadler, a famed virtuoso of the time. Mozart provided Stadler (and history) with a glorious composition - both poignant and technically challenging. These two cornerstones of classical music are performed here by clarinet soloist Benjamin Dieltjens, the Choir de Chambre de Namur and the New Century Baroque orchestra, all under the direction of Leonardo Garcia Alarcon.
