http://www.frontiers.it AOR & melodic (hard) rock  Preceded by the release of the single “I Love You More Than Rock ‘n’ Roll” (their 17th UK hit!), Thunder are now back with their seventh album, aptly titled “The Magnificent Seventh”.
Is it really that magnificent, I hear you asking? Well, it surely is! As far as I’m concerned, it’s obvious the guys have worked hard to write the best possible songs and the result is … a classic in the making. Main songwriter (and guitar player) is still Luke Morley and he has written a bunch of catchy and memorable songs, divided in two categories: in-yer-face rockers and tasteful ballads. The ones I like most are the up-tempo rockers (most of the tracks belong to this category) and thanks to a crisp production (also courtesy of Morley – he certainly is the goose that lays the golden eggs!) they really sound ‘explosive’. The last couple of weeks I have been playing this album over and over again and after all those spins, I’m still left speechless. Does that mean this album is good? Not at all … it’s f***ing brilliant! Actually, I can’t remember having heard Thunder play that good than on any other album from their repertoire! Album of the month and (already) a serious contender for album of the year… Go out and buy it now!
