Both of the albums released by hard rock/ metal group featuring Baker Gurvitz Army members Adrian & Paul Gurvitz on one CD. Both records were originally released on Epic, 'Gun' in 1968 & 'Gunsight' in 1969. A combined total of 18 tracks, including the cult hit 'Race With The Devil' and 'Drown Yourself In The River'. All tracks have been digitally remastered from the original master tapes... 1999 release.

С одной стороны, в моём отношении к группе GUN много ностальгического - The Gun был одним из немногих оригинальных дисков в моей коллекции образца 82-го года и прослушивался многократно на дню. С другой - сама группа и её музыка настолько, ИМХО, замечательны, что ностальгической составляющей можно, наверное и принебречь.
В состав, созданной в 68-м году группы, входили барабанщик Louis Farrell и братья Adrian и Paul Curtis (в девичестве Gurvitz ). Оба, стали позже членами таких отличных, ИМХО, команд, как Three Man Army и Baker Gurvitz Army.
В 68-м, песня из их первого альбома Race With the Devil долгое время входила в британскую Top Ten.
Вот, что писал об этом весьма авторитетный дядька Chris Welch в журнале Melody Maker:
A race riot shook the nation's pop charts recently. It was a "Race With The Devil" - a noisy, punch-up hit that blasted GUN into the Top Ten. And GUN are, by their own admissions, noisy, violent group. They brought back a shot of excitement at the time when gloom and depression had hit the pop scene and groups were breaking up in all directions...
В 69 -м, вышел второй и последний альбом группы - Gunsight.
GUN играли тяжелый рок с некоей долей психоделии - конец 60-х, всё-таки . В чем-то похоже на Cream, в чём-то - на ранний Purple или Warhorse, в чём-то - на Хендрикса.
Очень нравятся вещи Race With the Devil, Yellow Cab Man, Take Off, Drown Yourself in the River, Oh Lady You и бесподобные, ИМХО, медляки: Rat Race и Angeline.
