Review:
This is Esa-Pekka Salonen’s debut live recording from "his" Walt Disney Concert Hall and his first recording with Los Angeles Philharmonic on DG. The central piece is what Salonen conducted on the inaugural night of the Hall in 2003: Stravinsky’s compelling and popular Le Sacre du printemps (The Rite of Spring) – a sonic masterpiece that becomes something of a sonic miracle with the outstanding acoustics of the Walt Disney Hall. To capture the full sound experience of this concert, DG delivers this recording on a hybrid SACD (plays on all CD players as well)
