Steve Stevens is well-known as one of the supreme architects of heavy rock & roll guitar, as his epic performances on Billy Idol's hits such as "White Wedding" and "Eyes Without a Face" readily attest. This solo album is a wonderful surprise. Stevens' explorations into classical and flamenco music will certainly catch a lot of people off guard, but that's probably precisely the point. Stevens wails and floats through the tracks here with a snake-like abandon, mostly on classical, nylon-string guitar. Flamenco.A.Go.Go also borders on being a dance record, and the rhythms and tempos will no doubt grab every listener. It's mostly an instrumental album, although there are a few wonderful vocal sections. In the end, you have a wondrous, exploratory album which presents one of the finest guitarists of the last 20 years flexing his muscles and stretching his creativity. Fabulous.

Hello, everybody:

Many thanks for this post because inside comes a great sound, clarity, soundstage feeling and good fussion between some little part of "flamenco" and virtuoso arrangements like Peter White, and many more. Many years a go, Al di Meola discover the "magical touch" of the "Maestro" Paco de Lucía. But never try equals their art, and "duende". Every genious in their part.

This is not flamenco. Never, never, never. Almost some acoustic kind of new age or also, but nothing more.

I was born in Andalucía, the Land of Flamenco. My original land is Huelva, the Land of primitive "Fandango", the early form of a great and fantastic music and a kind of live and feeling.

There I was encountered a precious disk from Pepe Romero, and in there, it was various littles "fandangos", with their original touch, compás (tempo), rajeos (riffs) and vocals (Chano Lobato).

Stevens can to living in Andalucía very years, and it's possible wich with the time, and with their undoubtable genious, the Flamenco arise from their guitars.

From now, there are some things that the best is leave alone, exactly like they are.

Thanks to everybody.

Well, nobody claimed this was "pure flamenco" so I do not see the point of your "complaining"

Hello, Keykey:
I'm not posting any kind of complainings. I only say the truth over this kind of music. At last, it's only an opinion.
If you like the good sound and perfection in reproduction, this CD can be perfect for you and for anybody.
The "stravaganza", of course, is not in the post, because in the name of the work.
Like you know, in Spain there was very, very examples of fussion. The proper "Camarón" has in their curriculum one of the best works ever made inside this exploration between flamenco and other kinds of music. The work is named "La leyenda del tiempo" (The Legend Of Time").
An so, I only want to add some words about the truth flamenco, and never make any complaints over anybody.
You know very well what I want to say. Sorry if I've molesting anybody.

Saludos, Key.
