South Africa's 2010 FIFA World Cup keeps serving as the year's core inspiration for artists across the globe showing their love for soccer. Particularly in the Latin music genre, where songs about the sport go on to become Top40 hits and range from Bersuit Vergarabat's 'Toco y Me Voy' to Shakira's 'Samia.' According to FIFA stats, Mexico is the second biggest market in the world when it comes to soccer merchandise, just behind Brazil. So, it should come as no surprise that Regional Mexican music will jump to make good profits, thankfully, the first group to do it this year is Los Pikadientes de Caborca, one of the most creative acts in the genre.

'Vamos al Mundial' is the first single from the group's soon-to-be-released album, just in time for soccer's big celebration. Los Pikadientes de Caborca make irreverent, quaint, and explicit music; they step outside the box in every way they can, from the random lyrics to their incredibly wardrobe, they're the answer to an alternative concept within Regional Mexican music. In fact, the group recently did the weirdest version of Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' one could think of.

Two years ago, the group had a bomb hit titled 'La Cumbia del Rio,' known as the best-selling ring tone of all time, in any language. Their accessible music has not stopped music critics from naming them as the latest sensation in Regional Mexican. 'Vamos al Mundial' is the most upbeat, and perhaps, optimistic FIFA 2010 World Cup song so far.
