The Spanish band Storm was born in Seville, Andalusia, in the early 70’s, performing a progressive hard rock, heavily influenced by Deep Purple. They were formed by the brothers Angel and Diego Ruiz, on guitar and drums, with the addition of their cousin Luis Genii on organ and Jos£ Torres, a good friend of them, on bass.

Originally Los Tormentos, back in 1969, their manager decided to be rename Storm, when they toured in Madrid with the singer Blume.

In 1974 they recorded their debut album "The Storm", with psychedelic, hard-rock influence, and sung almost entirely in English, releasing the single "It’s all right", a hit in Europe due to a radio contest by the BBC "European Pop Jury". The song, being a hit, turned out to be an underground success in Spain, due to censorship, but with an energetic show, including an enormous solo by Diego Ruiz on drums.

They began negotiating with EMI to became the supporting act for the british group Queen -Freddy Mercury liked the sound and energy-, but problems with their manager Fern&ndez de Cordoba made the project impossible.

In 1976, the group disbanded temporarily due to the Army, returning in 1978, when they were recording their second album "El Dia de La Tormenta" (The Day of The Storm), which did not include Jose Torres, being replaced by Pedro Garcia. In this album, they sung entirely in Spanish, as all the major bands of the Andalusian rock era.

With limited success, the band split up in 1981, devoting their time to teaching and playing at the Conservatory Music of Seville, stretching their activities until 2004, when Luis Genii died and the group joined once again for a tribute concert.

That surprising return was warmly received by their fans, and spur a return to form, via concerts all over the country, bringing back the golden old days of the band.

Their debut album, that you hold in your hands now, is one of those rarest treasures in Spanish 70’s rock, atracting record hunters to pay big sums of money for it.
