How many rock'n'roll fans have been scared off Motorhead because of the metal tag I wonder? This is a great rock album, and Motorhead are a classic rock band that would/should be embraced by fans of The Stones, The Stooges, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC or The Ramones. Ace Of Spades title track is their definitive song, but the rest of the album is full of some killer cuts, especially "Ace of Spades", "Jailbait" and "Shoot You In The Back". Lemmy has rock'n'roll running through his veins (as well as some other substances... heh heh...). He sees the Spinal Tap absurdity of rock but he still loves it just the same. A former Hendrix roadie, he was thrown out of 1970s space rockers Hawkwind for - get this - taking drugs(!). He loves Eddie Cochran and The Who and the MC5 and even freakin' Abba and it shows. Ace Of Spades deserves pride of place in any serious rock fans collection.
