The Thompson Twins: Tom Bailey, Alannah Currie, Joe Leeway. Producers include: Steve Lillywhite, Alex Sadkin, Nile Rodgers, Tom Bailey, Rupert Hine. Remix producers: Shep Pettibone, Steve Peck, James Farber, Phil Thornalley, Tom Bailey. Tracks originally released between 1982-1988. Pay careful attention to that subtitle; if you're looking for the Thompson Twins songs that you remember coming from every radio and television set between 1983 and 1985, this is the wrong album for you. In fulfillment of their Arista Records contract, the Thompson Twins--reduced to the duo of singer/keyboardist Tom Bailey and percussionist/singer Alannah Currie after the departure of bassist Joe Leeway--went into the studio to record a disappointing new version of their first hit, 1982's "In the Name of Love." They also remixed several classic singles, but radical remix fans might not find much to excite them here; for the most part, there's no deconstruction or cool dub moves. The songs are simply...longer. The Twins recorded a number of classic pop singles, and there's little point in mucking about a song as near-perfect as "Love On Your Side" or "Hold Me Now. 1. In The Name Of Love '88 2. Lies 3. Love On Your Side 4. Lay Your Hands On Me 5. Gap, The - (bonus track) 6. Hold Me Now 7. Doctor! Doctor! 8. You Take Me Up - (bonus track) 9. King For A Day - (UK mix) 10. Get That Love
