In fulfillment of their Arista Records contract, the Thompson Twins--reduced to the duo of singer/keyboardist Tom Bailey and percussionist/singer Alannah Currie after the departure of bassist Joe Leeway--went into the studio to record a disappointing new version of their first hit, 1982's "In the Name of Love." They also remixed several classic singles, but radical remix fans might not find much to excite them here; for the most part, there's no deconstruction or cool dub moves. The songs are simply...longer. The Twins recorded a number of classic pop singles, and there's little point in mucking about a song as near-perfect as "Love On Your Side" or "Hold Me Now.
