Spirits Having Flown is regarded today as something of a letdown, representing the tail-end of the Bee Gees' period of greatest success, perhaps because it preceded a two-year layoff that, in turn, heralded a decline in their fortunes. At the time, however, no one heard anything less than what they expected -- beautiful slow dance numbers ("Too Much Heaven," "Love You Inside Out"), achingly gorgeous romantic numbers ("Reaching Out"), soaring ballads ("Spirits (Having Flown)"), and pounding dance-rock numbers ("Tragedy"). If a few songs on the LP's second side, like "Stop (Think Again)" or "Search, Find," weren't quite up to that high standard, even the latter song displayed dazzling interwoven vocals on the choruses (which were pretty infectious) that made the trip worthwhile. The record showcased the usual superb singing, and featured the most delicate and ambitious production and arrangements in their history. It may have lacked the spirit of freedom and experimentation found on Main Course or Children of the World, but in its place was a boldness that manifested itself not only in the singing, but also the most intricate and ambitious production and arrangements of the group's entire history. This was also the first Bee Gees album to get serious airplay on black radio stations, a major breakthrough for the trio and one of the last bits of unfinished business in the group's move into soul music, which also likely helped -- along with three chart-topping singles, the major tour that followed, and the network television special in the wake of the tour -- in propelling Spirits Having Flown to 35 million sales.

In the difficult position of having to top "Saturday Night Fever", the Gibb brothers surpassed themselves and created their biggest hit studio album of their careers, including three more #1 hits, making six #1 hit songs in a row! "Tragedy", "Too Much Heaven" and "Love You Inside Out" were all top hit singles. "Spirits (Having Flown)" was a large hit single overseas. All songs are Barry dominated vocals and he is at his falsetto best. However, "Stop (Think Again)" is a tad long and a little bit tedious, but the following tracks go right back to their upbeat best! Succeeding in avoiding any dance songs (disco), the Bee Gees out-do themselves. These songs are truly funky "R & B" numbers, a solid match for any rythym and blues band. "Until", the closing solo track may not be equal to their earlier hit "Words", but Barry's voice accompanied by the electronic harpsichord makes for a delicious ending.

Хм... судя по всему, имеется в виду вот что: данное издание является стереотипным, и выпускается из-за его востребованности (ну что-то типа дополнительного тиража, как я понимаю). А потом Rhino Records выпустит ремастер, но пока (то есть в момент выпуска) этого не случилось. ОлЧ, я прав?

This should read "Note: This is a re-issue If or till Rhino Records releases the Remastered Expanded version"

I guess it will depend on how the first 3 remasters have sold. I hope they sell good, because I want the next 3 remastered for sure.

Дорогие друзья, кумпаре и комрады! В кое веке решил проверить записанный образ, сняв его тут же с диска после записи..........и что я вижу CRC различается....несмотря на корректные настройки и оффсеты...сравниваю вавы выкладки и свежего образа - ошибок нет все нормально....Странно все это не знаете в чем дело?

если верить тому же амазону, то 30. Juni 2006 вышел точно такой диск, но Rhino-разлива для Европы

Rhino label for EU reissue June 2006. Rhino maybe remaster with extra tracks the whole BeeGees catalog. I hope for the the next 3 box set soon.
