Zool. is the nickname of Gerry Vergult.
Gerry has a long history in Belgian popmusic, starting out in the early eighties with his band Aroma Di Amore, who already mixed guitars with electronic rhythms. Throughout the years Gerry developed his skills in electronic musicmaking. This resulted in several projects for theatre and movies. And with the evergrowing possibilities of computer technology, he totally surrendered to the bits and bytes.
Zool. stands for raw, but yet delicate, multi-layered electronic music. Crispy, distorted rhythms, dubby basslines and abstract clicks and cuts meticulously blend with gentle melodies and lush soundscapes, thus creating warm blankets of listening music with a heart and a soul.

Zool.'s first album Vadem expands the musical universe that made his two previous EP's, Zoolepone and Zooleptwo, released on his own Hidden Pleasure Recordings, stand out from the electronica crowd.
This album emphasizes the harmonic and organic melancholy that makes his work more human than most other computer-orientated artists. Most of the tracks are not merely based upon computer-generated sounds, but are made using a lot of real-world sounds as banjo, guitar, cello, piano and voice, sometimes digitally treated in a way beyond recognition. Vadem blends diverse influences, ranging from dub to idm, over postrock to ambient, resulting in a very personal style of his own. As U-Cover likes to stand for a high quality label, Zool.'s music fits perfect in their roster.
For those who are not familiar with Zool.'s music it is now time to discover this musical talent.
Limited to 155 copies.
