Review: Beasts of Paradise has produced a must-hear-to-believe debut album, Nobody Knew the Time. This five-song primer to the group's eclectic vocal, percussion, and world music sound is packed with color, vocal acrobatics and poetic lyrics. All the pieces revolve around the beautiful harp playing of Barbara Imhoff and the rich passionate voice of Eda Maxym. The title cut features Inuit throat singing, while others feature such fascinating explorations of sound as a homemade one string rebab, a fuzz harp, and a toy piano.
