The fact that the band consists on ex Dissection members is one of the strong points here, but for sure not the biggest one. What's making this album one killer release is the fact that the band is playing music that has a way of sneaking into your mind and stay there for good. The use of melodies has made their music even more strong, and catchy, although is really from the typical Swedish sound. This is the second album of their band, three years after their debut album release, and their first in Hammerheart records. The band is playing Swedish Death Metal, but without the keyboards and much heavier than the average Swedish band, something that makes their music sound a bit old fashioned but also very familiar to the listener. The band has also done a very good job in the arranging area, where the songs are simple but very good, with catchy melodies, a very strong rhythm section and vocals that are much closer to the US Death rather than to Swedish. There are enough ideas and most of them are well explored through the song structures. The production is also very good, heavy and clear as needed, and helps the music very much. If you are into old school Death Metal from Sweden, this album is one of those that will stay in your CD player for quite some time. |
