:hi:
(The Sun - 2005-10-19)
It’s moody, dusty, sun-bleached, twisted country-folk music. You’d bet your bottom dollar that the man behind it lived in a small American town.
But Christian is a Swedish pickled herring (though he did spend som time growing up in the US).
He provides further evidence that Scandinavia is the unlikely home to some excellent exponents of this kind of material.
Some of it isn’t a million miles away from the songs on Veneer, the chart-busting album by fellow Swede, Jose Gonzalez.
Elsewhere, with Drag The Dirt In and Chose The City, he strikes up a fuller sound, enhancing the latter with exquisite pedal steel and piano.
