CODE |
Following an original idea proposed by Charlie W. Vrtacek to the producer Steven Feigenbaum, Cuneiform Records put together 25 artists who cover the compositions of other Cuneiform bands. Essential for any Canterbury RIO fans and an excellent overview of what this band are doing. Most of the tracks are unreleased elsewhere, except Volapuk's rendition of Nick Didkovsky's "Three Curiously Insubstantial Duets No. 3" would later appear on their CD "Slang!", along with No. 1 and 2. "Unsettled Scores" is not a compilation album or a label sampler but almost every song were released before. The value of this 2 set CD is that every band plays the songs of another band which also appear on the CD. Ex-Soft Machine Hugh Hopper, Richard Pinhas, Doctor Nerve, and Univers Zero all get tribute to the important place they hold in Cuneiform's catalogue. |
