"Closer To Home" was released in 1970 and in my opinion was one of Grand Funk's best albums. The entire album is excellent with no filler whatsoever. Grand Funk were comprised of Mark Farner (lead guitar/vocals), Don Brewer (drums/vocals) and Mel Schacher (bass guitar). The three of them made some of the 70's best loved rock music and this remastered cd is evidence that their music continues to live on. The standouts on this cd are many starting with the obvious "I'm Your Captain", as well as "Mean Mistreater", "Aimless Lady", and "Sin's A Good Man's Brother". The bonus tracks are mostly "live" cuts and really give the listener a feel for how great Grand Funk were in concert. The inner cd sleeve also contains valuable information regarding the making of this album as well as some nice photos. This is the one classic Grand Funk album I've been waiting years to have. And thanks to Captol Records, they've made this plus other Grand Funk cd's available in remastered form plus bonus tracks. Highly recommended!
