....Wavpack is a "hybrid" codec, that is to say, it takes a ripped *.wav and makes 2 files out of it: 1.- A *.wv file. It is the "lossy" file and the one that has to be played or converted. 2.- A *.wvc file. This file carries the additional information that makes the *.wv file "lossless". This file is NOT playable. I mean, you cannot play it alone without its correspondent *.wv file. You do not have to do anything but put all *.wv and *.wvc files in the same folder. When being played or converted to *.wav, it is automatically detected if the lossless (*.wvc) is present. If it is, you will obtain a lossless copy when you convert the files or you will listen to the lossless copy when playing. Only *.wv files can be played or converted. *wvc files will be used if present, to sum it up. .................. Just put in the same folder the files of the codec and the files of the Frontend. Then click on WavPack frontend.exe. Click on the Unpack tab. Click on Add and search for the *.wv files (Remember, if *.wvc files are present they will be automatically used and you´ll get a lossless copy, if not, you will get a lossy copy). In Ouput directory, chose a Folder to save the *.wav files and then click Go. That is it. Conversion to *.wav, and encoding too, is as fast as lightning. Hope you have it clear now ;) Why Wavpack?? Not many people like lossless releases for different reasons so, by using Wavpack, you give everybody the opportunity to download the release, they can get the lossy or the lossless one. IMPORTANT: to get the lossless release, BOTH files (lossy and lossless) have to be downloaded. Once we have both files, we unrar all files in the same folder. Greetings. thumbsup.gif |
