Complete Woodstock Performance Is Worth the Upgrade

While this marks the second remastering and repackaging of Santana's debut, this two-disc set is worth the price of admission. Originally released in August of 1969,the same month as their stunning performance at Woodstock, Santana released one of the strongest albums of their thirty-year-plus career. But while their debut was a wonderful collection of terrific songs--"Evil Ways, "Jingo," "Persuasion"--they were an even better live band.
The 1998 reissue featured three of their songs from Woodstock, including the 11:49 gem "Soul Sacrifice." This 2004 Legacy edition includes their entire Woodstock set, adding four more songs: "Waiting," "You Just Don't Care, "Jingo" and "Persuasion."
Additional material on the bonus disc are studio sessions of songs like "Soul Sacrifice" and ""Persuasion" that were recorded before drummer Michael Shrieve and percussionist Joe Areas were brought into the band, revealing compelling but alternate performances of these songs.
Even if you already own the 1998 remaster, this is the definitive release. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I JUST SAW IT AND JUMP ON IT i did'nt know first that it has great sound quality . disk one has the original lp included :
waiting , evil ways , shades of time , savor, jingo , persuasion, treat and you just don't care- but those songs you can find enywhere ( best of , greatest ....) in this case they put more 3 tracks mixed on it at sony music NY.
disk 2 - original album sessions 6 tracks plus live at the woodstock music & arts festival , august 1969 ( most of the tracks previously unreleased tracks - great , great sound - how can it be????? i"m not asking just happy to get this album for those early days . lately i bought the first three albums of deep purple , like getting the bonus tracks but they don't sound like this - this legacy edition has great sound qaulity!!! so if you remembered the great early days of " santana" this is for you. MOST OF THE TRACKS IN DISK 2 ORIGINAL RECORDED 1969 & RELEASED 2004 SONY BMG MUSIC ETERTAINMENT. DELUXE 20 PG. BOOKLET W/RARE PHOTOS & NEW NOTES. DIGITALLY REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL TAPES .
