Jaded Heart - The Journey Will Never End
This album contains a cover version. Nothing much wrong with that you may think but when a hard rock band starts covering the Backstreet Boys then questions have to be asked. Track nine "Larger Than Life" is the track I refer to.

Now don't get me wrong with the Backstreet singing this overblown pop nonsense all's fine and well but when you've got a band that have the talent that negates the need to do cover versions then credibility is severely at stake.

However if you are melodic Hard Rocker that likes BON JOVI, EUROPE, DEF LEPPARD and the like and your music tinted with a metallic edge, then JADED HEART is well worth a look. The title track is a solid Rocker with great harmonies and a tasty riff. Very reminiscent of the big 70's giants like JOURNEY etc.

Vocalist Michael Bormann is very similar to Joe Lynn Turner and his voice is strong and emotive. Check out "On The Rise" for a RAINBOW-reminder. "We'll Drag You Down" is surprisingly different from the rest of the tracks on the album. Coming across like a Euro version of DEF LEPPARD, it is the albums heaviest track and features a kind of Rap verse with good vocal harmonies.

The rest of the album rolls along rarely hitting huge highs. Competent and accessible, but hardly an essential purchase in the crowded Melodic Rock-field.
