| Suono.it Per chi non lo sapesse, bisogna ricordare che Roberto Gatto e Danilo Rea sono praticamente cresciuti insieme: già nel ’75, quando avevano rispettivamente 17 e 18 anni, suonavano nel "mitico" Trio di Roma con il ventenne Enzo Pietropaoli al contrabbasso. Da allora in poi, le loro strade si sono incrociate mille volte, sia per progetti propri che nella composizione di rhythm section stellari. Non può quindi sorprendere che tra il batterista e il pianista scatti una naturale intesa telepatica a ogni incontro. Il doppio CD in esame contiene la registrazione di un concerto dato nel giugno dell’anno scorso nella splendida cornice di Villa Celimontana, a Roma. Uno scenario e un’atmosfera "di casa", ideali per fecondare tutto ciò che da un duo di questo tipo, largamente dipendente dall’attimo fuggente, può nascere. Le straordinarie qualità di compositore istantaneo e inesauribile "variatore" di Danilo trovano sublimazione nel contrappunto percussivo di Roberto, la cui sensibilità nel cogliere, commentare e proporre nuovi stimoli è semplicemente superba. Si scorre quindi da Jobim a Trovajoli, da Sting a Paolo Conte, da Gershwin ai Beatles in un tripudio di melodie note e creazioni estemporanee, per una gran goduria lunga 108 minuti abbondanti. | Controtempo Sono di scena, grazie a superbe registrazioni dal vivo al festival di Villa Celimontana, due dei maggiori strumentisti italiani: il pianista Danilo Rea e il batterista Roberto Gatto. I due, reduci dallÕincredibile successo con le rispettive formazioni, ci regalano, in questo lungo doppio album live, momenti di grandejazz o, meglio sarebbe dire, di grande musica, rivisitando standards del jazz, della musica latina e del pop, con una predilezione con il repertorio Beatlesiano e di Antonio Carlos Jobim.
