"THE MUSIC THAT DIED ALONE"
"The Music That Died Alone" - это и путешествие по мирам арт-рока (включая чудесное посвящение кентерберийской школе), и, шире, некий романтический, овеянный любовью и мудростью взгляд на его прошлое и будущее.

The TANGENT is a musical project that involves seven of the most dedicated progressive musicians today. The band consists of Roine STOLT, Jonas REINGOLD & Zoltan CZSORZ (all from The FLOWER KINGS), Sam BAINE & Andy ALLISON (from PARALLEL Or 90 DEGREES), Guy MANNING (MANNING), and ex VDGG sax/flute player David JACKSON. A line-up that historically spans the whole of the progressive music era.
"The Music That Died Alone" is a CD recorded by the people of that project. It's a very "English School of Progressive Rock" album, and fans of Canterbury-style music will be delighted with what they hear. Three generations of progressive music – one remarkable album. Two multi-part prog epics - "in Darkest Dreams" and "The Music That Died Alone" - with a tribute to the Canterbury School in between. It clocks in at just under 50 minutes.

Basically anything that Roine Stolt is involved in, I try to snatch up at my earliest convenience. I don't really know how I missed out on this disk, but luckily I stumbled across it the other day. From the minute I opened this CD I was enthralled. The opening track will hook you, and hook you fast. To be honest with you, I don't even know the titles of the songs at this point because it has not left my CD player. This is a quality purchase, and one that any fan of progressive music should have in their collection. Intricate arrangements layer every track, supported by some stellar musicianship. Roine Stolt is incredible, but that is a given. His guitar work really shines on this release, and his vocals are clean and emotive. I will probably have to write another review for this later on, because it is still sinking in. But, initial impressions....purchase and enjoy
