Review:
This is the first ever DVD release of the unquestionable legend on Polish metal scene!!! It includes previously unreleased material from 2 concerts recorded in Krakow in 1995 and 1998. Track lists include pieces from the band's stylistically varied discography (from thrash metal, through traditional hard rock, to pure heavy metal) as well as yypically Acid versions of such classics as: Motrhead "Ace of Spades", Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" and Monty Python's "Always Look at the Bright Side of Life"! ~amazon.com

Prepare for a mind-altering experience as tripped out rockers Acid Drinkers offer a pair of live performances featuring the band's trademark punch and hilariously twisted sense of humor. The first performance, captured life at Karkow's Bücklein Theater in 1998, offers an eleven-song set featuring "Be My Godzilla", "Human Bazooka", and "Pizza Driver", with an additional thirteen-song set performed at Krakow's Leg TV Studio in 1996 offering such originals as "Poplin Twist" and "Midnight Visitor" in addition to covers of Metallica's "Seek and Destroy" and Motorhead's "Ace of Spades". Bonus music videos for six songs including "Sad Like a Coal Check" and "High Proof Cosmic Milk" rounds out this musical assault on the senses. ~by Jason Buchanan, AMG

I am 100% new to this band. It says they have been around for 15 years so I have no clue how they could have escaped my radar. I am going to assume that many of you have never heard of them before either, so excuse me if I bore you old time fans with the newbie review. Imagine a cross between Venom and The Circle Jerks or Gang Green. Kind of an old school blend of party punk and mid-eighties Venom. For a band that has been around for a decade and a half they seem pretty young. The most interesting and entertaining part of the first concert is their cover of Proud Mary. If John Fogerty was dead he would be rolling in his grave. It starts off pretty standard, but quickly goes south from there...in a good way. In fact, I have to say all the covers they do are done with such tounge in cheek humor that it makes it entertaining even for someone new to the band.
I am starting to notice that anytime you see the name Metal Mind Productions the camera work is going to be above average. For such an unknown band this is some fine piece of work. Not only is the camera work done with the professionalism expected with major label bands and budgets, but the whole thing is of that high end quality. The menus are easy to navigate and nicely animated. I have no clue as to how they get such quality with such a low budget, but this jaded prick of a critic is highly impressed.
Overall I think the singer's vocals are what is holding the band back. They are way too monotone and don't go with the very well done music. If it wasn't for that I would say that everyone should rush out and get this one. Both the band (other than the vocals) and the quality/production of this release are fucking great. If you don't mind the monotone death metal growls and shrieks that every band and their sister are doing now though, this might be right up your alley...that is if you also like Gang Green, Circle Jerks, & Venom. Yeah, I think I can safely call them a death/thrash/punk party band...or something? ~by Mark Carras, RockMyMonkey.com
