T-Square are probably the most well known amongst the J-Fusion groups having been together (in various incarnations) since 1976. Formed (as The Square) by Masahiro Andoh, a melodic jazz-rock guitarist, the early stuff is more pop-oriented with a few smatterings of future directions. The lineup on this album is the classic one of Masahiro Andoh - Guitars: Masato Honda - Woodwind, Brass and EWI: Hirotaki Izumi - Keys: Hiroyuki Noritaki - Drums: and Mitsuru Sutoh - Basses. The first 2 tracks are real rockers but the mood becomes more jazz-oriented as the album progresses. Track 6 is a true showcase of the talents of these guys and the wonderful track 8 is the "signature" piece of Masato Honda, it shows up in various guises on many of Honda's works both solo and group. Knight's Song (or rather a variation of) was on the soundtrack to the Japanese video game F1 Grand Prix.
