вот что говорит Стив Хоффман по-поводу этого альбома

WAY OUT WEST is a very tricky master.

I've heard the stereo masters and the monaural masters.

The sax channel (the left channel) needs a little help or it can sound too brittle. The right channel (bass and drums) needs mastering help of a different type.

If you want to hear (what I feel is) the best version, spring for the Analogue Productions 45 RPM set that Kevin and I mastered.

Don't like vinyl? Get the MoFi silver CD or the original JVC silver CD.

That's it for me on these. Everything else has fake echo dumped on it. I hate that.

I'd be curious to hear the SACD of this disc (I haven't bought a player -- waited to see who might win the format war, and as expected, there were no real winners) and would love to check out Steve's 45 RPM version. I usually listen to the AP Doug Sax CD for pleasure. The reverb on it seems a little excessive as compared to my original Mono LP, but, I like the less speaker centric presentation it has as compared to the MFSL, AP Grundman, XRCD, and XRCD24 CDs, which all have harder left and right mixes. I have to say the XRCD24 seems to provide the most inner detail and instrumental texture... it may get more time in the transport.

Но MFSL мне нравится больше всего :w00t:
У AP искусственное эхо, хотя сделано гладко, немного не то. Японский очень классно инструменты завышены но тоже чего-то не хватает. А MFSL очень нравится

Hi,

I have a question. When playing this on foobar2000 from the cuesheet y have a problem. It seems that the indexes are incorrect.

Any help?

Thanks

Bob

did you change the extension to *.ape in cue file?
docbobgordon
Hi yury

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I've changed the extension to ape. I can play it with foobar2000. The problem I have is that when I play the album using the cuesheet on foobar2000 tracks begin at incorrect points. It seems like if the cuesheet has a problem with the indexes.

I had the same problem with the DCC Elvis Presley compilation.

I just had problems with those files. I downloaded many of the albums that are linked here and all played fine.

Cheers,

bob

I have no idea. I burned the CD and listened in the car, everything played fine, and I didn't even notice pauses between songs :w00t:
