Guitarist and vocalist Igor Novikoff (Igors Novikovs or Игорь Новиков - as it is pleasant to whom) is a leader of legendary Latvian blues-rock band Rebel. Band was founded in 1991. In 1992 young still group Rebel have invited to act at festival " Jurmala ", after - on " Liepajas dzintars" (most popular rock festival in Latvia) where Rebel has won competition, and Igor Novikoff has been recognized by the best guitarist of the country. Soon the group has released the first casette with the songs, and in 1995 - CD. Rebel gave much concerts in Baltic states and Russia, especially in Moscow blues and rock clubs. In 1999 band has left for Singapore, where basically played in local rock clubs.
Band with 15 years history and only 3 albums (Deep Inside - 1995, Road To the Sun - 1997, Шаровая Молния - 1999)... At last after seven years silence and uncertainty, Novikoff & Rebel released new album "Nobodie's Perfect". All songs composed by Igor Novikoff, and texts was written by his friends. Compositions in a 70-minute album is absolutely new, except for two which, however, are completely changed - Deep Inside (Angel) and The Rebel Riders. For Nobodie's Perfect, Igor Novikoff assembled new musicians (Arc Erenburg - drums, Gint Zilinsky - piano, Bruno Priekulis - bass, Oskar Semerov - harp) and set out to record a heavy blues-rock album. Though much of the album comes across as straight blues-rock, there are moments when Novikoff's throaty, impassioned vocals kick the record into high gear. During those times, you wonder why he didn't just make a strong blues-rock album instead of diluting his music in an attempt to broaden his appeal with rock clubs performances .
Очень рекомендую - high class ..
