Wow, these guys are really young. And their follow-up(?) album is really good, I must add. INCRAVE has an average age of 22 but their melodic Swedish/German Metal is mature-plus for their age and (so far) experience. Really, I’d recommend "Dead End" to every fan bonded to the sound of bands like EVERGREY, TAD MOROSE, (slow-tempo) BRAINSTORM, (moody) MORGANA LEFAY, PAGAN’S MIND, (heavier) LEVERAGE...
The sextet started out called as EVERGRACE...Hmmm, good idea they changed their name to INCRAVE, and decided to re-issue their (then) "Evergrace" debut album now entitled as "The Escape". Have not heard this product, but "Dead End" alone serves better than jut ’well’. There’s wide melody allover, with all instruments sounding equally clear in the mix, and some great ample guitars. Falk’s vocals are impressive; he’s emotional, he rarely shouts, he’s ’traveling’ and eventually exposes ’inner pain’ in no vain. Would really like to have the lyrics he sings to; he gladly touches the listener’s heart.
The songwriting and performance is - as pre-said - very mature for the band members’ age. Overlapping the fact that enough parts in the songs show some repetitive tendency (this one also applies to Falk’s harmony lines, at times), it is essential to be stated that you will possibly not get tired listening to the whole album at once (or two or three times in a row). The production and melodic song structure in "Dead End" will deliver a wonderful trip to inner feelings’ revelation, plus the majestic keyboards’ work will be the perfect trap leaving you behind closed doors in this mystic melodic/semi-prog/heavy European Metal enchantment.
This new album was mixed and mastered by Per Ryberg (BLOODBOUND, MORGANA LEFAY, TAD MOROSE) and the covert artwork was painted by Kristian Wahlin (AT THE GATES, EMPEROR, THERION). I cannot separate one song from the other in this album. "The Forgotten" will be released in CD single format in late March, and is just one of all the beautiful songs lurking in the "Dead End" CD. No need to say more; ’key’ words guiding you are available above. Trust those guys, they may have a bright future!
