It is nice to hear music from new and interesting bands from time to time. This is an example of a band that I had never heard of but that is certainly worth listening to. Harmony is a Swedish band founded in 2000. We already know most of the band but under a different name, namely as Darkwater. Frankly, it is unclear to me why the band now also operate by the name of Harmony. This is the follow-up to their debut CD ‘Dreaming Awake’ from 2003. The band plays melodic metal, consists of fine musicians and the CD sounds perfect.
Henrik Båth is a great singer with a relatively high voice and Markus Sigfridsson is an excellent guitarist. Drummer Tobias Enberg does not have a problem using his double bass drums. Keyboard player Magnus Holmberg takes care of the melodic atmosphere that is strongly intertwined in the music by Harmony. Obviously we miss a bass player! Do not worry, Kristoffer Gildenlöw (ex Pain Of Salvation, now Dial) played the bass parts very professionally. I should not forget to mention that the gentlemen Saether and Finnberg (In Flames and The Haunted) were behind the control panel; the CD obviously sounds really great. Most striking tracks are the opener 'Prevail' (the band really kicks ass immediately), 'Kingdom' (take notice of the great Malmsteen-like guitar solos), and 'Inner Peace' (a nice bright and beautiful keyboard - guitar duel). Anyone who loves melodic metal must check out this CD, the band deserves it.
