Biography:
Like a Four wheel Drive, Hogjaw, have taken the off-road into the music industry head-on. Blazing they’re own trail of rock & roll, Hogjaw, have brought back the sound of pure listening. Cranking tunes and bringing music back for the people that can be understood by all walks. With vocals telling stories, guitars blazing & drums thundering: Hogjaw’s record's are going to come at you like a freight train of sound!
Hailing from the desert land of Arizona – Hogjaw is bringing in the rock from the Southwest. The quartet includes; Jonboat Jones (vocals/guitar), Kreg Self (lead guitar), Elvis DD (Bass) & J. "Kwall" Kowalski (drums) deliver a dose of genuine rocking goodness.
Hogjaw was formed in late 2006 through the power of jamming..." when we realized what we had, it just snowballed." Everyone in the band is standing friends from High School and with one common goal, rockin, it became easy for the music to develop. With years of playing in label bands, touring afar, and playing beat-up acoustic guitars in and around the hills, these guys find their talents on a way of their own. It is spoken through the songs...and with support from everyone surrounding Hogjaw....things couldn’t be better for the group!
The band has had the opportunity to spend most of 2009 & 2010, traveling the states playing music from: Major events, to playing Clubs and Bars with acts like; Cowboy Mouth, Ratt, Helmet, Valient Thorr to Railbenders, Gin Blossoms, Jimmy Van Zant, etc. The album " Devil in the Details" was in the top sales for ‘08 &‘09 at CDBABY.com... they’re videos have been in the top 10 at "OurStage.com" and also the record has been picked up by many European & English distributors with turn around sales. Locally the group recently had their CD acknowledged as top 5 record of the year by "you asked for it" at the Phoenix New times... Also with a nomination in the hard rock category for the Phoenix new times "summer of sound" concert series ‘09.
Now with the 2nd installment of the Hogjaw catalog, "Ironwood." Two years after the first release ("Devil in the Details") the band is still on course. Singing songs that define the artists and keeping true to what they stand for. The sophomore record shows more growth from the quartet, which is what you would expect a group to do...
Give them both a spin and we hope you dig it as much as we all do in the HG camp...Cheers to everyone and look forward to hearing back some feedback!!! Lastly, we will say this...if you dig the music, please tell your friends (including; radio stations, magazine reviewers, etc) to check it out like you have... it would be greatly appreciated. To the grass roots movement of independent music!

How the sounds of the Hogjaw was grown by its members;
Jonboat Jones grew up all over the "dirty south" from the swampy woods of South Georgia, the gravel pits of west Tennessee, to the desert dwelling of Arizona. Being raised on dry rub BBQ, bream on the cainpole and Skynyrd band on the radio has given him the spirit of legends to follow. Craig continues to hone his skills in chicken pickin' when he isn’t ripping out leads for the band. He also spends time angling his fishin-rod when ever possible. As for Kowalski, he's known for being a solid player and has dedicated his time over the years traveling the corners of this country playing many sweaty clubs and being a session drummer for studios all over. Along side of him, Elvis D, the elusive bass player, spends a good portion of time beside Kwal traveling the same journey’s. Keeping a quiet profile when not laying down the low-end for the band. Together, all bring a diverse background of musical style to the project, determined to make a mark for themselves in the vast world of music.
