The greatest white female rock singer of the 1960s, Janis Joplin was also a great blues singer, making her material her own with her wailing, raspy, supercharged emotional delivery. First rising to stardom as the frontwoman for San Francisco psychedelic band Big Brother & the Holding Company, she left the group in the late '60s for a brief and uneven (though commercially successful) career as a solo artist. Although she wasn't always supplied with the best material or most sympathetic musicians, her best recordings, with both Big Brother and on her own, are some of the most exciting performances of her era. She also did much to redefine the role of women in rock with her assertive, sexually forthright persona and raunchy, electrifying on-stage presence.

A limited-edition five-CD box set comprising both albums that Janis Joplin made with Big Brother & the Holding Company (Cheap Thrills and Big Brother & the Holding Company), both of her solo albums (I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama! and Pearl), and a bonus EP with five previously unreleased recordings. Each of these four albums includes previously unreleased bonus tracks, and each is available separately with the same material. The tracks on the bonus EP aren't available anywhere else, and if you're devoted enough to consider laying out for this deluxe box, you're probably most interested in what's on that fifth disc. There are a couple of Cheap Thrills outtakes, "It's a Deal" and "Crazy Once You Know How," with a garagey feel and some typically scorching, uninhibited Big Brother lead guitar; it can be seen why they may not have been deemed strong enough for the album, but they're pretty cool to have. The live versions of "Maybe" (April 1969) and "Raise Your Hand" (October 1969) are okay, but not essential; of greater curiosity is the raw live charge through "Bo Diddley" (also October 1969). Note that this box does not include a good deal of material that has shown up on the Janis box, the Janis movie soundtrack, In Concert, and Farewell Song, so it's not a complete collection of Joplin's recordings.

Вопрос к качавшим сей релиз - коврики в топике такие-же как в раздаче?

Ибо приехал ко мне этот бокс, но оформление совершенно другое. Диски в миниLP оформлении, соответственно без боковинок и полностью повторяют оформление LP, да и сравнить CRC не с чем, тогда логи не постились :drag:

Может у кого остались логи?

У меня, скорее всего, не отсюда скачан, ковры похожи. Поставил этот в осла, обещает довольно быстро закачаться. Сразу отпишусь, что там с логами. Если ещё будет востребовано.

Да и сам бокс другой формы и CRC разные. Лог я просил для выяснения как раз вопроса - только оформление другое или штамповка дисков так-же отличается. Получается второе.
