Zagreb Guitar Trio was founded in 1984. Since then they played throughout native Croatia, in many European countries and in cities like Paris, Rome, Dublin, Lisbon, Berlin. Ljubljana, Tel-Aviv, Copenhagen, Istanbul and London. They have made several LP-s and CD-s and have recorded extensively for Croatian Radio. Their wide repertoire embraces works from renaissance to avant-garde including original 19tn century guitar trios, attractive transcriptions and new works written for the Trio by many Croatian composers as well as by Duarte and Blake Watkins from Great Britain, Koshkin from Russia and Mesquita Lopes from Portugal. Interesting feature in some of Trio's concerts is the use of the double bass (played by D. Petrinjak) in baroque trio sonatas and in contemporary works. All members of the Zagreb Guitar Trio also enjoy solo careers as recitalists, recording artists and pedagogues; Petrinjak and Römer teach at the Academy of Music in Zagreb and Listes at the Art Academy in Split.

This recital appears to be uncompulsory music between classic, latino sound and jazz. In a few words - pure guitar music for guitar lovers, and those who are about to become so, whereby there is no need for tonic, as this music is exactly that - pure pleasure.
Goran, Istvan and Darko make an extraordinary ensemble, as a paradise island in the sea of music. What makes them stick together? Although each of them has his own solo career considering their performing skills, the pleasure of making music together binds them into permanent friendship, and none of them likes the idea of leaving the paradise island.
Today their experience and maturity make even greater effect, though it seemed that in their previous, more demanding projects, thanks to their talent and great efforts, they had reached their peak. Now listening to sincere music of some other distant lovers of three guitars, it seems that we witness a long sequence of encores, after having listened to a "serious" programme.
The three friends give us the pleasure of south seas, sailing on precious wooden boats, starting from Dubrovnik, hometown of Mr. Matusic. As we sail along Brasilian (Almeida, Gnattali, Bellinati), Columbian (mythical humid Macondo of Garcia Marques), Venezuelan (Montes) and Carribean (Barrios) harbours, we smell approaching autumn wind (Rizzo) and decide to spend the winter in Rio in dissolute carnival (Roux), the friendship with guitar is gradually growing into the first-class event. Astern is Goran who brings us back to the paradise island in summer afternoon. (Alojzije Seder)
