Dark Side of the Moon, originally released in 1973, is one of those albums that is discovered anew by each generation of rock listeners. This complex, often psychedelic music works very well because Pink Floyd doesn't rush anything; the songs are mainly slow to mid-tempo, with attention paid throughout to musical texture and mood. The sound effects on songs like "On the Run," "Time" and especially "Money" (with sampled sounds of clinking coins and cash registers turned into rhythmic accompaniment) are impressive, especially when we remember that 1973 was before the advent of digital recording techniques. The Super Audio CD (SACD) features two disc layers. One layer contains a standard version of the album that works on any CD player. The other layer includes high-resolution stereo and a 5.1 surround version of the recording that works on SACD-compatible DVD players and home theater systems. Both layers employ SACD's Direct Stream Digital (DSD) encoding process that samples the music 64 times faster than CD for unprecedented fidelity.

I agree with a previous review that the standard red book CD section of this Hybrid SACD is somewhat lacking. If you do not own an SACD player I can't think of a reason to buy it. Other versions are much better.
However, I cannot rate the 5.1 SACD section highly enough. For those of you who have not heard an SACD. I can only tell you that SACD 5.1 surround is to stereo as stereo is to mono and it's recorded at a whopping 64 times the resolution of a regular CD. The SACD section of a hybrid SACD is actually a DVD-5 (4.7GB) to hold all that audio data. That's why a regular CD player can't play it. It's an entirely new listening experience.
Most importantly this 5.1 surround mix is the one officially authorized by Pink Floyd themselves. The previously released (quadrophonic version) was mixed by Alan Parsons. While it was a good mix the band did not care for it and did not want it released as their product. This SACD release is the interpretation that Pink Floyd wanted. So if you want to hear Dark Side of the Moon in super high fidelity, in magical 5.1 surround, the way the band themselves visualized it, I can't think of a reason NOT to buy it.

Я уже настолько запутался с этой луной, что и не пытаюсь разобратса , посему вопрос, это что-то новенькое или то, что уже проходило раньше

А ещё мне помнитса, что я обещал ... в прочем в честь нового года отложим это дело

OlCh-у надо памятник поставить за адский труд по переносу SACD в ДВД-аудио
и скинутся на полностью цифровую грабилку

неудачно сделан обычный CD слой, а SACD стерева+многоканальный сделан отлично!

Не, я не пойму, почему в credits нет такой например надписи -
DSD to DVD (PCM) transfer by OlCh!

Уважаемые,а у всех ли выходит 96 на выходе? У меня почему то ПоверДВД7+Продига7.1 на выходе 48 .Может кто что посоветует?

могу лишь подтвердить, что двд-аудио сделан на 24/96
