PINK FLOYD - DARK SIDE OF THE MOON (The Original Quadraphonic Mix by Alan Parsons) (24/96khz 4.1 & 2.0 DPLII) ![]() Track List: 01 - Speak to me 02 - Breathe 03 - On the run 04 - Time 05 - The great gig in the sky 06 - Money 07 - Us and them 08 - Any colour you like 09 - Brain damage 10 - Eclipse Well, here we are with the nth version of DSOTM. This time is the original Quad Mix by Alan Parsons taken directly from the Tape Master. And here are my comments: I premise that i've heard ALL the version of DSOTM existing including the original Quad Vinil. But here we go. Spatiality: The first thing that come to mind is the evident increased spatiality. Even in the DPLII version there is more, more room and all the instruments are separated and defined like in no other version. Contents: The really interesting thing of this Mixing, is that we can hear for the first time, notes, and parts we never imagined could exist. From sax tremolo brutally cut-off from the official, to very subtle synth and guitar modulation, and so expanded piano textures that are really intriguing, adding even more fascination to that already present in the official. Timbre: From a mastering point of view, the sound is clear, defined. But the strange sensation is that the sound seems "oversharpened", it lacks those frequencies that made DarkSide... well DarkSideOfTheMoon ![]() Conclusion: Spatially is a different version from all the others, and is very well mastered. The instruments are where they are supposed to be, and the rotating is just... right. From a mastering point of view the sound is clear is defined. But why i don't seem convinced...? Well my final impression, is that this version lacks "Life". What is a "Life" for an album? Well is that thing that when you listen to it you say... "Wow, it lives". And this version lacks it. Totally. Sounds good, but it's far from you. So, in the end. If you want to "study" the album with all the sleeves, this is for you. If you want to LIVE the album, well the MFSL is and remains the REAL SOUL of Dark Side Of The Moon. LINK: Pink.Floyd.-.Dark.Side.Of.The.Moon.( ... Posted by: OlCh on 26-09-2006, 21:29 |

nautilus7 you don't need to convert anything. It is already pre-made for burning I believe. I got the ISO and burned it with nero. Or you can just burn it with DiscJuggler by dragging AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders ![]() |
