Уильям (Билл) Скотт Бруфорд (англ. William Scott Bruford; 17 мая 1949, Севенокс, Кент, Англия) - английский барабанщик, известный своим яростным, виртуозным, полиритмичным стилем игры. Он был первым барабанщиком известной британской прог-рок-группы Yes. Потом он играл также в King Crimson, UK и многих других коллективах, со многими известными музыкантами, занимался сольными проектами (Bill Bruford’s Earthworks и другие). В 1980-е - 1990-е годы много экспериментировал с электронными барабанами и перкуссией, но в итоге вернулся к обычной акустической ударной установке. In 1977, Bruford formed his own band named Bruford. Members of the band were initially Dave Stewart (keyboards), Jeff Berlin (bass), Allan Holdsworth (guitar) and Bruford (drums). The first album Feels Good to Me (recorded as a solo project) also had Annette Peacock on vocals, Kenny Wheeler on flugelhorn and John Goodsall on rhythm guitar. The second album, One of a Kind, was entirely instrumental, except for some spoken lines during the introduction to "Fainting in Coils." There were two live albums from this period. Bruford – Rock Goes To College is a 2006 DVD release from the eponymous BBC Television series and The Bruford Tapes, compiled from live shows at My Father's Place in Roslyn, Long Island, in 1979 (including one broadcast on radio station WLIR-most, but not all, of the tracks on the album are from that show),[9] with 'the unknown' John Clark replacing Holdsworth on guitar. The group's final studio album Gradually Going Tornado continued this line-up with bass player Berlin providing vocals on some songs. Backing vocals were provided by Canterbury scene stalwarts Barbara Gaskin and Amanda Parsons.
